Five Month Aud!

Nicknames - Aud Aud, baby girl, stinker (dad)
Sleep - You've slept thru the night twice so far (as of 7.12.17) your typical sleep is 7pm-6:15am
Clothing size - 6month, some 9 month stuff
Milestones/Firsts - you started school on June 26, it was hard for mom but so far you seem to be enjoying yourself. Your teachers are Meghan and Christy, they read to you, help you sit up, let you play in the exersaucer, and will teach you sign language soon. I miss you terribly during the day. We only get about two and a half hours to play together now in the evenings and I struggle so much with it. I'm working part time for now so we have more time together on Thursday afternoons and we get all of Friday to play.
You've conquered rolling over! One night you woke up for a night feeding and when I came to get you, you were on your tummy and had turned sideways in the crib. You've been turning yourself for a while but the tummy is brand new. The next day your daddy and I put you on your back and you rolled over 4 more times. You're so close to sitting up now too.
Likes - your exersaucer /jumparoo, watching the cats, the mirrors, when mom and dad are silly with you
Dislikes - laying on your back
Cat interactions - you love to watch them
Special Trips/Visitors/Events -
Things to Remember -
This is so cliché, but baby you are growing and changing everyday. At least a few times a week your dad and I talk about how excited we are to watch you grow.  My heart just explodes with love for you baby girl.
Always,
Mama

Two Month Audie

Sweet Audie, you are one day away from being two months old and as everyone told us the time is really and truly flying by.

Weight -  11 lbs 2 oz (4/24/17)
Length -  23.5 inches (4/24/17)
Nicknames - Audible, still using Audie-bear, Audawald, (Little) Dingy, Little Peanut, Goober
Clothing- 3-6 month outfits!

Sleep - Wow- what a swift change, week 6-7 you started sleeping for longer stretches at a time, about 4-6 hours at first and now consistently 5 and sometimes 6. We've tried to get you on a schedule with bed between 8-10 and it's been working. They say 6 hours is considered sleeping through the night which sounds amazing, we're just struggling with getting you down to sleep after your initial 5-6 hour stretch. Around 7am you usually decide you're over the bassinet and demand to be held. Dad will take you downstairs to cuddle and let me sleep for another 1.5-2 hours.

Milestones/Firsts - Cooing! At 7 weeks you had such an explosion, you coo and talk right back to us now regularly. Around 5-6 weeks you started to smile intentionally - it is so rewarding to talk to you and see your sweet gummy smile and your eyes light up. I want t capture a picture of it but I'm too busy looking at you and smiling back. You smile the most in the mornings during our morning feeding. I sing you our "morning song" it's not much but it goes like this...Good morning good morning to Aud  or Audie-bear and Audie-boo, Audie-oh and Audie- eu
You're also a lot more drooly and you blow bubbles
Strong neck control!

Likes - You're now big enough for your swing and you spend at least a few hours in it a day. It's allowed me to get more done around the house, cook, bake, and even start this blog. You love your polka-dot chair and your red chair. You are "standing" when we hold you and you wiggle ALL THE TIME. You love to suck on your fist and try to fit the entire thing in your mouth.

Dislikes - still not interested in the paci at all

Cat update - They really aren't interested in you yet. When I nurse you in the morning, Bert will come and sit on the boppy with us and smell your head but that's it. If we put you too close to them they will walk away.

Special Trips/Visitors/Events - We went to Aunt Lorsey's 50th birthday and you met all of my cousins

Things to Remember - Your poop so LOUDLY! Seriously, everyone comments on it. Your poops/farts will last 10-20 seconds which is a pretty long time for someone so small. Both of your grandmas say they don't remember us making this much noise while we poop so we don't know where this comes from.
You are spending less time sleeping on my chest so I am trying to get at least one chest hold a day.

One Month Audie

Happy first month sweet Aud! I'm writing this a little late but better than never.

Weight - 9 lbs (3/22)
Length - 22 inches (3/22)
Nicknames - Audie-bear, Audawald (dad), Dingy, Little Peanut
Sleep - Getting better most nights, averaging 3-4 hour stretches at a time
Milestones/Firsts - First brewery! (Bond Brothers, Raleigh Brewing - with Aunt Kate); First restaurant visit (Bad Daddy's); Birth Announcements sent out

Likes - riding in the car during the day, being swaddled, child's pose on mom and dad
Dislikes - paci, riding in the car at night
Cat Interaction - Max & Bert will smell you and walk away, they aren't interested in you but they do love sitting in your chairs and your crib

We've been to the pediatrician a handful of times this month, at first you weren't gaining weight so we had to supplement my breast-milk with formula for about 4 days. We had to visit the ped extra to be sure you were getting bigger. The good news is you started to gain right on schedule.

Special trips, visitors, events - Nanny spent your first week here with us and was such a tremendous help! At 3 weeks Aunt Kate came to visit for a weekend. Right before your 1 month birthday we spent the weekend at Nanny & Poppy's house. Lucy was a little confused about who you are and we had a photo-shoot with Nanny and your stuffed chicken.

Things to remember - You love to nap on me and dad in what we call child's pose. You lay on your stomach with your knees bent and your arms crossed with your head turned to the side. It's really the best feeling in the world. For your first month this is the only way you'd nap and we definitely didn't complain. You're still too small for your swing and most chairs so dad and I have been soaking up the chest to chest time.

We've had a lot of support from our friends and family this month, we've had so much food delivered and people wanting to come visit you. You are SO SO loved.
